How I Became A Life Coach
My Story
Rev. Mark Crear, Ph.D., is not only a Master level Life & Performance Coach, but also a Two-time Olympic Medalist (110 Meter-High Hurdles), Motivational Speaker and Certified Counselor.
Before jumping any “hurdles” on the track, Mark had plenty of hurdles to jump off. Growing up in a single family home and being a victim of physical and emotional abuse, Crear early on knew that life was not fair and had plenty of reasons and excuses to quit and give up. However, “quitting” was not a part of Dr. Crear’s DNA. Instead, Mark relied on his faith and hard work to carry him from his life of abuse, abandonment, rejection and disappointments, to #1 in the world.
Mark has a passion for emotional and mental healing through effective motivation & faith based counseling. Dr. Crear has been around the world presenting keynote and inspirational messages to various corporations, organizations, clubs and churches at all levels across a variety of industries. Dr. Crear’s unique way of using his Olympic Experience as a Hurdler to illustrate how to Overcome Hurdles and Stay in the Zone is encouraging, motivating, educational, yet entertaining.
Dr. Crear is a graduate of the University of Southern California (USC), who has over 15 years of diversified experience in Multicultural Competency training and Counseling, Diversity & Inclusion, Racial Reconciliation and Life, Relationship, Organizational and Performance Coaching. Dr. Crear is currently the Executive director of the Multicultural division of The American Association of Christian Counselors, adjunct professor of psychology at Huston Baptist University (HBU) and the founding principal of In The Zone Coaching, Counseling and Consulting group.
Notwithstanding, Mark’s biggest achievement is that of Father and Husband.
